Annotation
These four audio cassettes present transcripts of presentations and discussions regarding issues involved in the investigation of child sexual abuse and exploitation; the discussions were held at the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children's Second National Colloquium in May 1994.
Abstract
Directed primarily to law enforcement personnel, the presentations focus on prostitution, child pornography, and other forms of out-of-family child sexual abuse and child exploitation. The discussions cover the scope of the problem, the dynamics involved in child exploitation and child sexual abuse, common problems that investigators are likely to encounter, and effective investigative techniques developed by experienced police investigators. Issues related to the family of origin, the possibility of foster care, relationships with shelters for these children and youth, interview techniques, and methods of obtaining physical evidence are also covered.
