This book is intended as a primer to investigative photography.
Abstract
The first section describes the basic tools, techniques, and craft of photography, and covers light and film, and control of light, the camera, correct exposure, the lens, and miscellaneous techniques. The second section deals with surveillance photography, discussing its goals, problems related to distance and movement, exposure problems, and the organization and implementation of a photo surveillance operation. The final section discusses crime scene photography, focusing on artificial light and flash photography, the need to document the crime scene, photography in inclement weather or at night, and techniques used to photograph tire and shoe tracks, latent fingerprints, flat objects and works of art, and arson, fire, and bomb scenes, or scenes of violent crimes and traffic accidents.
