This report highlights the activities of the Ventura County (California) District Attorney's Office in the period 1992-1993.
Abstract
The report summarizes the operations undertaken by the Criminal Division, the Juvenile Division, the Victims Services Division, Special Operations, the Consumer and Environmental Protection Division, the Child Support Division, the Bureau of Investigation, and the Grand Jury. The report also discusses the District Attorney's Office recruitment and training programs. During the reporting period, Ventura County was renamed the safest urban area in the Western U.S. The District Attorney won two death penalty verdicts, created an Auto Theft and "Hot Wheels" program and a Family Protection Unit, as well as a Workers' Compensation Fraud Prosecution Unit and a Fish and Game Prosecution Unit. The report discusses the Office's reorganization plan, designed to prepare the Office for the challenges of the 21st Century.
