Abstract
The material in this teaching guide is organized into specific topics, each with accompanying activities and resource materials: (1) Preventing Sexual Harassment; (2) Child Sexual Abuse Prevention; (3) Date and Acquaintance Rape Prevention; (4) Sexual Exploitation Prevention; (5) Dating Violence Prevention; and (6) Campus Rape Prevention. In addition, there are separate sections concerning: (1) Classroom Instruction; (2) Handling Disclosures in the School Setting; (3) Mandated Reporting; (4) Meeting the Needs of Victims; and (5) Addressing Sexual Harassment. The author suggests that school personnel prepare students for the seriousness of the material, consider their teaching objectives, plan the format for presentation of the material, encourage integration of the materials into other subject areas, establish follow-up procedures as necessary preparation for the program, and consider having an informative staff presentation by an expert in the field.
