This article summarizes findings from a survey of probation services and social services departments in Great Britain with respect to the management and delivery of Youth Court services.
Abstract
The findings are discussed with regard to lead agency responsibility, organizational documents, management structures, service delivery structures, and arrangements for monitoring service delivery and effectiveness. There was a wide range of local responses to the establishment of the Youth Court, attributable to the large degree of local discretion built into provisions for managing and delivering Youth Court services, local historical and previous patterns of service provision, and the different organizational contexts of county and metropolitan areas. 1 table, 6 notes, and 5 references
