Annotation
Directed to foster parents, this training videotape depicts a dialogue between the foster parents of a 12-year- old female who was sexually abused by her father and is displaying seductive behavior toward her foster father.
Abstract
In the dialogue, the foster mother expresses her concerns, while the foster father initially states that he does not believe that a problem exists. The mother says that she has noticed the foster daughter staying near the foster father and being flirtatious and asks the father if he has noticed any unusual behaviors. He says that he has not and that he has been displaying the same affection toward the foster daughter that he does toward their own children. The mother persists in her questioning, saying that she is concerned that the foster daughter may be seeing her foster father as a father figure. After continuing to deny the existence of a problem and suggesting that the foster mother may be jealous, the foster father agrees that they should talk to the foster daughter and contact the caseworker.
