Federal Drug Control and System Improvement (DCSI) grant funds administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) provide vital seed money to State and local government agencies for improving the criminal justice system.
Abstract
The annual report of the PCCD for fiscal year 1993-1994 indicates the following priority program areas for local projects: juvenile justice initiatives, community policing, community-based criminal justice efforts, new and expanded automation efforts, child abuse prosecution, comprehensive victim services, intermediate punishment, and pretrial services. These program areas are consistent with elements of the National Drug Control Strategy and areas of emphasis identified by the U.S. Attorney General and the Bureau of Justice Assistance. The PCCD stresses interagency coordination efforts and recognizes the importance of evaluating program effectiveness and efficiency. The DCSI program will continue to encourage experimentation and innovation by State and local agencies in Pennsylvania to improve the criminal justice system. 1 table
