Abstract
The United States Conference of Mayors established the Mayor's Criminal Justice Clearinghouse in an attempt to increase communication among mayors and city police officials and to enable them to share ideas. In this directory, mayors identify innovative policing programs that they have implemented in their cities. The directory presents information on the following types of programs (number of entries): Comprehensive Community Policing (49); Crime and Drug Enforcement (8); Diversion (4); Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance (5); Drug Abuse Education (9); Gang Prevention and Elimination (4); General Crime Prevention (6); Improvements in Police Service and Management (7); Neighborhood-Based Crime Prevention (10); Neighborhood Improvement (6); Public Education on Police Procedures and Activities (7); Traffic Safety and Car Theft Prevention (8); Youth (28); and Other (4).
