This volume presents descriptions of programs deemed by the 14 southeastern States, commonwealths, and territories to be successful in addressing issues associated with violent crimes and violent offenders.
Abstract
The programs are listed by State. They include drug task forces, drug testing and drug treatment programs, gang units in police agencies, sex offender treatment programs, and a gun hotline. Additional programs include domestic violence intervention, training for violent crime investigations, a criminal intelligence database, a police unit to deal with fugitives, drug law enforcement programs, child sexual abuse investigation programs, victim assistance programs, victim/witness programs, treatment for victims of domestic violence, rape crisis shelters, violence prevention programs, programs for elderly victims of crime, and programs for violent juvenile offenders. Each program description includes the program name, address, contact person and telephone number, length of operation, primary focus, interagency collaboration, goals and objectives, and content.
