An interview with the director of the Juvenile Prison in Tokol, Hungary, indicates that most Hungarian prisons are obsolete, with old buildings and overcrowded to the point that international human rights organizations have protested against prison conditions and inmate treatment.
Abstract
According to the director of the Juvenile Prison in Tokol, additional funds are needed to improve the situation. He raises the issue of whether involvement of the private sector may be a solution to inadequate and overcrowded prisons.
