Abstract
A section on the Mississippi court system contains an organizational chart, maps of court districts, and information and statistics on court funding and administration. The section on the Supreme Court describes the 1995 organization and operation of the Administrative Office of Courts, the Board of Bar Admissions, and the Commission on Continuing Legal Education. Each justice is profiled, followed by information on Court finances and a caseload summary. Information and statistics on the Court of Appeals addresses its organization and operation, judges' backgrounds, and a caseload summary. Trial court statistics encompass the filings of circuit court, chancery court, county court, and family court for 1992-95. With the addition of the Court of Appeals, which became operational in January 1995, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals have together disposed of 1,380 cases, an increase of 515 cases over last year. A greater reduction in the case backlog is anticipated for next year.
