Intended as a resource for clinicians who work with perpetrators or victims of sexual abuse, this volume lists and describes several dozen questionnaires, inventories, and scales for assessing their clients.
Abstract
Each entry briefly describes the instrument, notes its length, and describes any constituent scales. The entry also indicates the intended client age range, notes the author, a source, and whether the instrument is included in the appendix. The instruments are grouped into 12 types of assessment (1) personality and psychiatric symptoms in adolescents and adults; (2) general psychological and behavioral assessment in children and adolescents; (3) traumatic victimization; (4) attachment and bonding; (5) social and interpersonal competence and self-esteem; (6) empathy; (7) distorted attitudes about women, children, and sexuality; (8) anger, psychopathy, and antisocial personality; (9) sexual knowledge and development; (10) sexual functioning, sexual anxiety, and sexual guilt; (11) gender identity; and (12) normal and paraphilic sexual fantasies and behaviors. 36 appended instruments
