This plan was prepared by an interagency working group to present the Federal Government's advanced technology development initiatives to support the 5 goals of the National Drug Control Strategy over the next 10 years.
Abstract
The plan is also consistent with the President's budget request for fiscal year 1999. The plan presents a road map for 10 years of counterdrug technology development and provides a long-term planning methodology to guide future efforts to coordinate the use of resources and avoid the duplication of efforts. It also establishes four technology panels, provides a review process, establishes a structure composed of lead development agencies, organizes the entire spectrum of each agency's operational capabilities and technical requirements by technology panel, contains 10-year development plans for each panel, and supports regional technology initiatives.
