The number of felony dispositions pending for 6 months or more rose by 9.3 percent, from 7,057 in 1995 to 7,714 in 1996. The most significant rise in dispositions pending for 6 months or more occurred in New York City. The number of offenders convicted but still awaiting sentence increased by 10.7 percent between 1995 and 1996.
