This trainer's guide, designed for a 2-day training seminar, contains 12 modules on how to work with victims of drug-related crime.
Abstract
Following an introductory module, the next module overviews the problem of drug abuse, drug abuse treatment, cross-cultural issues in drug abuse, the scope of drug-related crime, and the integration of victim assistance and violence prevention. The next three modules deal with defining victims of drug-related crime, crisis reactions and long-term stress of crime victims, and unique issues faced by victims of violence as the result of chronic exposure to violence and drugs. Subsequent modules contain strategies for working with victims of drug-related crime through victim assistance programs, in the criminal justice system, through community organizations, and in schools. Final modules focus on action plans and the design of an action strategy to work with victims of drug-related crime.
