The survey found 39 States and the Federal Bureau of Prisons had correctional web sites. While most web sites contained some mention of community corrections, even correctional departments with considerable community corrections authority tended to include only basic descriptive information about their community corrections operations. Information on web sites was grouped according to the following categories: institutional information, organizational information, planning and support, prison industries, links to other sites, staff assistance, public/legislative relations, inmate information, and victim services.
