Restorative justice is a concept that has been increasingly adopted by lawmakers and criminal justice practitioners around the world, and its hallmark programs are used extensively in countries with diverse cultures and legal systems.
Abstract
Principles of restorative justice are outlined, some of the resources available to those interested in obtaining more information on restorative justice programs and practices are noted, and agencies and individuals involved in restorative justice programs are identified. The Working Party on Restorative Justice, established by the United Nations Alliance of Non- Governmental Organizations on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, is discussed. A restorative justice lexicon is included.
