This book presents trends in recorded criminal incidents, criminal court processes, juvenile justice, and correctional processes in New South Wales.
Abstract
The book makes no attempt to offer a detailed interpretation of each trend because, in most instances, there are several possible explanations and insufficient data to test each possible explanation. The book presents data in the following sections, with selected sub-categories: (1) Trends in Recorded Crime (victimization surveys, recorded criminal incidents for selected offenses); (2) Trends in Criminal Court Processes (Local, District, Supreme and Higher Court trends); (3) Trends in Juvenile Justice (registrations, disposals, offense types, penalties); (4) Trends in Correctional Processes (prisoner populations, prisoner receptions, community-based corrections).
