Abstract
The manual is specifically designed to raise awareness among groups and individuals on the front line of elder abuse detection, including financial, health care, and law enforcement organizations. The first three sections of the manual provide general information such as definitions of elder abuse, high-risk factors, abuse indicators, and reporting barriers. The next three sections focus on the role of financial, health care, and law enforcement organizations in elder abuse prevention and intervention. The final section offers recommendations on how to prevent the prevalence of elder abuse in New York State, resources for additional information and assistance, and helpful web sites. Overheads summarize the material in the training manual. 17 references
