This report presents parole statistics for Florida for fiscal year 1998-99, details the achievements of the Florida Parole Commission during the year, and provides an overview of the Commission and its role in Florida’s criminal justice system.
Abstract
The workload for the year included 7,695 cases on the parole and conditional release voting docket, 156 cases on the control release voting docket, 374 parole judicial notifications, 118 paroles granted, 81 paroles revoked, 4,431 conditional releases, 1,857 conditional releases revoked, 181 control releases revoked, 581 supervision reviews, 6 conditional medical releases, 2,684 warrants issued, and 930 clemency cases reviewed. The commission worked with other State agencies on special projects and reorganized to provide a more efficient and accountable work product. The commission completed a joint project with the Department of State to add the names of persons granted clemency to a central State database. It also worked closely with the Department of Corrections to implement and perfect the Inmate Records Imaging System, which aims to eliminate paper inmate files.
