The book contains 11 articles presented in two sections. It first provides an overview of the problem of sexual aggression, focusing on the scope, definition, categories of ,and dimensional nature of aggression and sexual aggression. It also discusses developmental, biological, ethological, behavioral, psychodynamic, and sociocultural influences, including illustrative clinical cases. It examines the sexual harassment of children as well as the short-term and long-term consequences of sexual abuse and victimization. It explores cultural and ethnic influences as they are related to the child’s and family’s response to abuse. The second section assesses and evaluates sexually aggressive behavior and offers treatment options. It describes both male and female offenders as well as the determinants of sexual aggression. Finally, it addresses the evaluation of child sex offenders as well as therapeutic and pharmacological strategies for treatment of adolescent and adult sex offenders.
