The average age of the adolescents was 15 years, 4 months, and the average intelligence quotient was 90. The average length of stay in residential treatment was 7.5 months. Resident level of behavior functioning was measured by determining the average percentage of points earned in the behavioral management system during residential treatment. Residents were divided into three groups based on point earnings--high behavior, average behavior, and low behavior functioning. Results showed interactions between level of functioning and two scales, the F-Scale on the MMPI-A and the Aggressive Behavior Scale on the TRF. Logistic regression analysis showed that, when both scales were entered, the Aggressive Behavior Scale solely discriminated between low functioning and average functioning residents. About 70 percent of cases were correctly classified with the Aggressive Behavior Scale alone. 31 references, 2 tables, and 4 figures
