Nine tables encompass various aspects of delinquency dispositions; selected dispositions are shown by race and ethnicity, and delinquency dispositions are presented by type, attorney representation, and source of referral; time lapse from referral to disposition is also shown; delinquency dispositions for the period 1995-99 are presented as well. Six tables address delinquency placements, covering placements by type of service, placement rates for 1995-99, and selected placements by race and ethnicity. Three tables cover delinquency offenses, focusing on type and number of alleged offenses, selected serious crimes, and type and number of substantiated offenses. Four tables focus on detention, with attention to standards that govern the use of secure detention, reasons for admission to secure detention, length of stay for secure detention, and secure detention use rate. Seven tables deal with offender demographics; three tables document various aspects of dependency dispositions; and five tables are concerned with disposition and placement reviews. There were a total of 64,138 juvenile dispositions in 1999, including both dependency and delinquency dispositions. Of these, 61,843 were delinquency cases. Of these delinquency cases, 40,824 involved new charges; 8,527 were disposition reviews; and 12,492 were placement reviews. Of the 2,295 dependency cases, 2,042 were new referrals, 24 were disposition reviews, and 229 were placement reviews. Appended county class list and juvenile court statistical card
