This article is intended to provide updated information and steps that communities can take to help citizens understand the chemical agent, anthrax and the potential threat of an anthrax incident. The public needs to be educated to the threat of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), such as anthrax. By getting the information out to the communities, the potential for mass hysteria are significantly reduced. Information can be passed through town meetings, press releases, and community presentations. Four questions citizens typically ask their communities regarding an anthrax attack were presented with follow up responses: (1) do I need to get a mask; (2) what can I expect if I get exposed; (3) should I microwave, freeze, or iron my mail; and (4) should I stock up on Cipro?
