Focusing on resident inmate characteristics, admission and release data, and custody distributions for the fiscal year 2003, this report from the State of Washington Department of Corrections is made up by a series of tables, charts, and graphs. Following the presentation of a glossary and abbreviations list detailing the terms used throughout this report’s series of tables, the report charts Washington inmate population statistics and characteristics within adult corrections institution's pre-release and work release programs, month by month. Presenting numbers of inmate admissions to prison and numbers of inmate releases from prison, this report offers graphs and tables providing inmate statistics, characteristics, and types of offenses, as of September 30, 2002. Addressing correctional facilities’ custody distribution of Washington State’s male and female resident inmates, this report presents numbers of inmates, by location, highlighting minimum, medium, and maximum placement numbers. The last two tables presented in this report detail risk level categories of State of Washington Department of Corrections resident inmates, by facility, race, and sex.
