Abstract
Data on the population of adult corrections institutions, prerelease, and work release encompass the average daily population and rated capacity by month, female average daily population and rated capacity by month, and the average daily population per month by type of facility. Tables on the characteristics of resident inmates within institutions, prerelease, and work release cover distribution of location by race and Hispanic origin, by violent crime convictions among Washington State inmates, by age, by sentencing authority by race and Hispanic origin for female inmates and by county of conviction. Data also address distribution by military service, distribution of offense by location, and distribution of offense by race and Hispanic origin. Data on admission to prison show a comparison of admissions and releases by month; admissions by month, type of admissions, and sex; and admissions by type of admission and county of conviction; by age at admission, race, Hispanic origin, and sex; by county of conviction, race, and Hispanic origin; by type of admissions and sentencing authority; and by offense and type of admissions. Data on release are presented by month, type of release, and sex, as well as by type of release, race, and Hispanic origin. Length of stay of releases are presented by category of admissions, offense for total population, offense for court admissions, offense for revocations, offense for WEP (Work Ethic Program) graduates, offense for DOSA (Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative), and CCI (community custody inmate)/WEP violator releases by offense.
