Abstract: The report details those Web sites that provide actual data, such as names of terrorist organizations and incidents of terrorist activity. Several have search capabilities. The Web sites are maintained primarily by United States Government agencies, non-United States research centers, and international organizations. An appendix provides an extensive list of additional resources that provide commentary and analysis of terrorism events and trends. These resources are taken from the United States government, libraries, international agencies, government and private non-United States agencies and institutes, and academic-based domestic organizations. The report indicates the focus of each database, including whether or not it is restricted to a particular region of the world. The Web sites include the United States State Department Counterterrorism Office; United States Treasury Department Office of Foreign Assets Control; the New Consolidated List of Individuals and Entities Associated with the Taliban and al-Qaida Organization as Established and Maintained by the 1267 Committee; the Center for Defense and International Security Studies Terrorism Program; the International Policy Institute for Counterterrorism; South Asia Terrorism Portal; the Center for Defense Information Terrorism Project; the Federation of American Scientists Intelligence Resource Program List of Liberation Movements, Terrorist Organizations, Substance Cartels, and other Para-State Entities; and the Oklahoma City National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism.
