A 54-course curriculum involves 125 required credit hours. There are 13 criminal justice courses, 2 in fire science, 7 in homeland security, 2 in public safety, 10 related electives, 9 required education courses, 6 general education elective courses, and 4 personal development courses. The program prepares students with skills and knowledge for entry-level positions in various law enforcement, fire service, and industrial security enterprises. Instructors must have a minimum of 10 years field experience in homeland security. Graduates are prepared for entry-level career opportunities in public safety, general security, diplomatic security, and border patrol. Homeland-security graduates are eligible for work as a secret service agent, State police officer, customs investigator, U.S. Marshal, and homeland security special agent.
