This report discusses the results of a questionnaire on the implementation of the supplementary Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air under the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.
Abstract
In November 2000, a resolution was adopted by the General Assembly on the implementation of a protocol entitled, Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air. The mandate was to establish a program of work for reviewing periodically the implementation of the Migrants Protocol. A questionnaire was developed and forwarded to collect information from states parties and signatories on the implementation of the Migrant Protocol. This analytical report presents a summary and a first analysis of the relevant replies to the questionnaire, which highlight the progress made towards meeting the requirements set out in the Migrants Protocol.
