The Washington State Department of Corrections presents the following data for adult corrections facilities for fiscal year 2007: inmate population; characteristics of residents, facilities, and work release; admissions; releases; and custody distributions of residents within facilities.
Abstract
Data on the inmate population address the average daily population and capacity by month, the female average daily population and capacity by month, and the average daily population per month by type of facility. Data on work release are shown for each facility by the following inmate characteristics: race, military service, offense, age, gender, and risk classification. Data on admissions are presented by month, type of admission, and sex; type of admission and county of conviction; age at admission, race, and sex; county of conviction and race; offense and type of admission; comparisons of admissions and releases by months; type of admission and age at admission over the last five fiscal years; sex over the last five fiscal year; and offense category over the last five fiscal years. Data on releases are presented by month, type of release, and sex; type of release and race; and type of release by length of stay. Data on length of stay for releases are presented by category of admission, special sentence, offense for new admission, offense for readmission, and by offense for inmates under special sentences. Data also address releases by type of release and sentencing authority. Release data for the last five fiscal years cover average length of stay of releases by category of admission, sentencing authority, and sex. Data on custody distributions of residents pertain to current and initial custody classifications, with some data presented for the last five fiscal years. Extensive tables and charts
