This article presents those law enforcement agencies who have participated in the law enforcement technology “Junk in Your Trunk” program and the various manufacturers that provided the equipment or product to unjunk their trunks.
Abstract
The Extendo Bed developed by the Extendo Bed Company, Inc. reorganizes each department’s own unique custom organizational problems. The Patrolman TrunkVault and Tac Center developed by TruckVault, Inc. offers better equipment organization along with extra-protection with the secondary security. The full-size trunk-mounted radio tray and equipment guard, and trunk box organizer manufactured by Havis-Shields Equipment Corporation is about getting as much out of the driver’s compartment as possible and keeping it safer for the officer through the use of trays. The trays can hold computers, remote siren control heads, and any other electronic equipment that can be remotely mounted outside the passenger cabin. The Tactical Storage System (TSS) manufactured by Kalispel Case Line features a secure storage solution that can be transferred from one vehicle to another. Each TSS is custom-made and installed. Last is the Crown Vic Organizer by Patriot Enterprises. These organizer products used to un-junk trunks were utilized by law enforcement agencies across the country involved in the Law Enforcement Technology “Junk in Your Trunk” program.
