Report highlights on accomplishments and activities, reported to the Governor, for the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) for 2006 include: (1) the Communities That Care (CTC) being awarded more than $2 million to help sustain its efforts; (2) youth offenders performing more than 536,000 hours of community service, paid $2.3 million in restitution to their victims, and contributed and additional $353,775 to the State Victims Compensation Assistance Program; (3) the posttraumatic stress disorder demonstration project in Westmoreland County, treating more than 400 girls was recognized with awards of excellence; (4) more than $28 million in State and Federal funds were awarded to partnering organizations to support an array of programs and services for victims; (5) more than 80 percent of police departments electronically sending offender fingerprinted and photographed information to the Pennsylvania State Police Automated Fingerprinting Identify System (AFIS); (6) the receipt of a $1.25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to create the Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification (SAVIN) system, notifying citizens when an offender is released or escapes; (7) launching an identity theft awareness campaign which included a Web site; (8) over 3,000 law enforcement , safety, security, and emergency responder personnel have been trained to present the Terrorism Awareness and Prevention program to community groups; (9) offering a total of 176 training courses for constables and deputy constables with 106 completing basic training; (10) legislation and policy designed in the form of a media campaign to advocate for gun laws to curb the gun violence; (11) total State grant funding for State fiscal year 2005-2006 is $53,731,891 million; and (12) total Federal funding for Federal fiscal year 2005-2006 is $38,732,465.
