The field test of the NCFAS-G indicates that it exhibits good psychometric statistical properties and can assist workers to assess families and construct broad-based service plans for them. The results of assessments conducted on the families being served are in line with expectations for the population. In conclusion, the NCFAS-G appears to be reliable when used by trained differential response workers serving moderate-risk families. The NCFAS-G was developed in collaboration with the National Family Preservation Network. It was designed specifically for use in child and family service agencies using a differential response service model in which low- to moderate-risk families are invited and encouraged to voluntarily receive services in order to improve overall family functioning, resource management, safety, health, and self-sufficiency, and to reduce the likelihood of future maltreatment of children.
