Abstract
With funding from the U.S. Department of Justice, National Institute of Justice (NIJ), NLEARN (National Law Enforcement Academy Resource Network), the Nation's first police academy network, commenced operation in 2008. The network provides a wide variety of communication and information services to academy personnel and operates under the auspices of the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST). It seeks to share academy operational knowledge, programs, materials, and lessons learned. There are currently academies in 49 States participating in NLEARN. When accessed (www.nlearn.org), the user can navigate through the areas of news and announcements, library and information portal, academy director's forum, Web resources, important information, and who we are.
