This document presents an overview for the years 1996 through 2009 of the work of Our House, Inc., a program that provides intervention and prevention services for victims of domestic violence and their children in the Mississippi delta region.
Abstract
Highlights from this report include a listing of programs offered by Our House such as MASH (Men Against Spousal Harm) for male domestic violence offenders, ABEL's Program for Survivors of Homicide Loss, Rural Communities Public Awareness Program, and Teens' Intimate Partners Violence Prevention Program. Services offered by Our House include legal assistance for victims of domestic violence, youth enrichment services for youth who have experienced the death of a loved one due to a violent crime, a 24-hour safe shelter for victims and their families, 24-hour assistance for victims of sexual assault, and outreach and advocacy services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. This report also includes of list of community projects and workshops that Our House has conducted since 1996 that highlight the need to increase awareness of the problem of domestic violence and sexual assault among rural communities. A list of the Board of Directors of Our House, its staff members, and its sponsors and funders are included in the report along with the organization's most current audited financial statements.
