Abstract
This report, the second volume of a three volume report, examines the process for selecting sites with mature, well-implemented family support programs, and presents the findings from a small set of research studies evaluating these sites. The report is divided into five sections. The first chapter describes the selection process for identifying candidate programs and the methods used for developing a manageable set of programs from among the thousands of programs that were eligible for inclusion in the study. The following four chapters present the results of four programs for which an evaluation was completed: 1) the Families and Schools Together (FAST) Program in New Orleans; 2) the Iowa Family Development and Self-Sufficiency (FaDSS) Program; 3) Holley-Navarre's Project Vision Program; and 4) the Cleveland Works Program. Each chapter presents a summary of the study and its findings, a discussion of the evaluation design, findings on the impact and effectiveness of the program, and a discussion of the results.
