This document is the program for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Conference on Forensic DNA: Tools, Technology, and Policy held on July 23-25, 2007, in Washington, DC. The materials provided in the program include the daily agenda for the 3-day meeting, the abstract and presenter biography for each presentation, and agency posters. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for discussion of the current and future needs of DNA crime laboratories and how new technological innovations can assist agencies in meeting these needs. Conference participants include researchers, practitioners, and others with an interest in DNA. Sessions during the conference include presentations, technology demonstrations, posters, and opportunities for researchers, practitioners, and other attendees to interact with each other. Topics covered during the conference include: DNA Tools for Tomorrow; the Forensic Resource Network: Tools, Training, and Assistance to State and Local Laboratories; Forensic DNA Demonstrations and Posters; Using DNA Technology and a Team Approach to Solve Cold Cases and Identify Missing Persons and Unidentified Remains; Using New DNA Capabilities to Identify Perpetrators or Their Physical Characteristics; Examining the Impact of DNA Evidence; and DNA Program Updates from NIJ and the FBI.
