Abstract
The SAAF (Strong African American Families) program was developed to "advance the well-being of African-American families by strengthening family relationships, parenting processes and youth competencies." This Web site from the Center for Family Research at the University of Georgia presents information on the SAAF program. The site presents a brief summary of the 7-week program for youth and their parents/caregivers. The intent of the program is to improve parenting processes and youth protective factors in order to decrease youth drug and alcohol use and postpone sexual involvement and other risky behaviors. The site includes links for ordering the SAAF package and training, and SAAF promotional brochures, as well as links to additional resources available from the Center for Family Research.
