With the FTCoE, Dr. Morgan currently hosts podcasts of interviews with innovators in forensic science who are engaged in various types of research related to this field. In 2002, Dr. Morgan became the Deputy Director for Science and Technology with the U.S. Justice Department's National Institute of Justice (NIJ). He then became employed by RTI, an independent, nonprofit institute that provides research, development, and technical services to government and commercial clients worldwide. Within RTI, he serves as the Director for the Center of Forensic Science. This includes being a member of the team of the Forensic Technology Center of Excellence (FTCoE), which works to extend and publicize what is happening in research projects that have the potential to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the forensic science enterprise. The focus is on informing and assisting forensic practitioners and policymakers in using the benefits of research and technology to improve forensic processes and outcomes.
