Abstract

Erica Fornaro is the outreach manager for FTCoE, which involves organizing and implementing formats in which the findings of forensic research and the uses of forensic technology are communicated to forensic scientists working in local, state, and federal crime laboratories. She describes some of the formats being used by FTCoE to communicate and interact with forensic practitioners in sharing and discussing what is happening on the frontiers of forensic science and technology. These formats include the Just Science podcast series, which consists of interviews with persons involved in various forensic science research projects; webinars in which practitioners ask questions and discuss issues with featured forensic scientists engaged in groundbreaking forensic projects; and symposia and workshops that feature case studies and the sharing of forensic knowledge and experiences. Ms. Fornaro also talks about meaningful personal experiences in her work and background.
