THIS PAPER DISCUSSES INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY, PROGRAMMED LEARNING, AND MATURATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAMMING, THE LATTER AN OUTGROWTH OF THE FORMER AND A MECHANISM USED BY THE OHIO PAROLE AUTHORITY TO REDUCE PAROLE VIOLATIONS.
Abstract
FOUR DIMENSIONS WERE DEVELOPED FOR THIS MAP PROGRAM -COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS, CONSUMER EDUCATION, INTERPERSONAL ACTIVITIES, AND ABILITY TO OBTAIN AND HOLD EMPLOYMENT. PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT REVEALS THAT PAROLEES WHO INVEST A MINIMUM OF 45 HOURS IN THE PROGRAM HAVE A 90 PERCENT SUCCESS RATE, WHEREAS THOSE WHO SPEND LESS TIME WITH IT SUCCEED AT ABOUT ONE-HALF THAT RATE.
