THIS DOCUMENT PRESENTS A GENERAL PLAN FOR THE EVALUATIVE TESTS OF POLICE PATROL CAR SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS UNDER OPERATIONAL FIELD CONDITIONS.
Abstract
THE TESTS ARE PLANNED FOR 20 VEHICLES. ONE-HALF OF THE VEHICLES WILL BE TESTED IN DALLAS, TEXAS AND NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, RESPECTIVELY. CONTROL GROUPS WILL BE MONITORED IN EACH CITY. THE GUIDELINE METHODS PRESENTED IN THIS EVALUATIVE TEST PLAN ARE GENERAL AND SUBJECT TO COST AND TIME CONSTRAINTS BUT ARE NOT INTENDED TO EXCLUDE THEORETICALLY SOUND INNOVATIVE METHODS FOR IMPLEMENTING THE PROGRAM. SPECIFIC AND CONTRACTORS TASKS ARE DEFINED IN THE RESPECTIVE STATEMENTS OF WORK. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
