COVERAGE IS PROVIDED, FROM JANUARY 1970 THROUGH APRIL 1976, OF PUBLICATIONS OF COMMITTEES OF THE U.S. CONGRESS, AND OF PUBLICATIONS OF ALL BRANCHES AND AGENCIES OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THAT CONTAIN STATISTICS OR AID IN THE UNDERSTANDING OF A STATISTICAL PROGRAM. THE SELECTION OF PUBLICATIONS WAS MADE WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE HIGH SCHOOL DEBATE TOPIC FOR 1976-77 AND ITS THREE RESOLUTIONS ON THE U.S. PENAL SYSTEM, CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROCEDURES, AND GUN CONTROL. TWO SEPARATE LISTINGS ARE INCLUDED - AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY OF BASIC PUBLICATIONS AND A FULL BIBLIOGRAPHY LISTING ALL RELEVANT TITLES, FROM WHICH THE BASIC BIBLIOGRAPHY WAS SELECTED.
