Abstract
THE AUTHOR, HIGHLY CRITICAL OF THE VALIDITY OF VOICEPRINT IDENTIFICATION, PRESENTS ARGUMENTS AGAINST ITS ADMISSIBILITY BY CITING THE MAJOR WORK OF ONE OF ITS FOREMOST PROPONENTS, DR. LEONARD TOSI. POINTING OUT THAT TOSI AND LT. NASH OF THE MICHIGAN STATE POLICE WERE WITNESSES AT EVERY TRIAL IN WHICH VOICEPRINT IDENTIFICATION WAS ADMITTED, THE AUTHOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE TECHNIQUE BY THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY. THIS ARTICLE IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE DEFENSE ATTORNEYS WITH AMMUNITION IN THEIR CROSS-EXAMINATIONS OF EXPERT WITNESSES IN VOICEPRINT IDENTIFICATION.
