THIS REGIONALIZED DISPATCHING IMPLEMENTATION STUDY WAS PERFORMED FOR THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES OF WASHTENAW COUNTY (MI) (EXCEPTING ANN ARBOR AND YPSILANTI) AND IS DATED JANUARY, 1977.
Abstract
THE POPULATION OF THE COUNTY IN 1980 IS EXPECTED TO REACH 280,000. VARIOUS ALTERNATIVES, INCLUDING EMERGENCY TELEPHONE NUMBERS (911), ALL POLICE AGENCIES COMBINED INTO CENTRAL DISPATCH, COMPUTER-AIDED DISPATCH, OR ALL-EMERGENCY (FIRE, AMBULANCE, POLICE) DISPATCH, ARE CONSIDERED IN LIGHT OF PROJECTED POPULATION GROWTH. PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS, RADIO FREQUENCIES, AND COST PROJECTIONS ARE EXAMINED.
