REPORT, DATED AUGUST 1976, OF A REVIEW OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM INCLUDING THE PERSONNEL ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE, POSITION DESCRIPTIONS, SALARY PLAN, COST PROJECTIONS, THE PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL PROCESS, AND TRAINING NEEDS.
Abstract
THE PROPOSED MERIT SYSTEM WAS PREPARED FOR 36 OF THE COURT'S 93 EMPLOYEES AND INVOLVED THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS BAILIFFS, PROBATION OFFICE STAFF, ASSIGNMENT OFFICE STAFF, COURT REPORTERS, REFEREES, AND SECRETARIAL STAFF. THE AKRON, OHIO, MUNICIPAL COURT SERVES A TOTAL POPULATION IN EXCESS OF 335,000. AMONG THE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF THE PLAN, IT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE ROLE AND DUTIES OF THE COURT EXECUTIVE BE CLEARLY DEFINED, AREAS OF MANAGEMENT THAT ARE MOST IN NEED OF ATTENTION BE DEFINED, AND ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES AS SUGGESTED IN THE PROPOSED PLAN NOT BE IMPLEMENTED AT THE PRESENT TIME.
