PERSONALITY AND DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES FOR 110 MEMBERS OF A THERAPEUTIC COMMUNITY IN A MAXIMUM SECURITY PENITENTIARY ARE EXAMINED TO DETERMINE VARIABLES THAT DIFFERENTIATE COMPLETERS FROM DROPOUTS IN THE PROGRAM.
Abstract
THE AUTHORS GENERALIZE FINDINGS FROM ALCOHOLISM TREATMENT PROGRAMS, EXPLORE DIFFERENCES UNIQUE TO THE CORRECTIONAL PROGRAM, AND OFFER A PRACTICAL PREDICTIVE EQUATION. THEY OBSERVED ONE SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE AND SEVERAL TRENDS. IT WAS FURTHER CONCLUDED THAT THE LENGTH OF REMAINING SENTENCE IS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN COMPLETION OF A CORRECTIONAL THERAPEUTIC COMMUNITY PROGRAM. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)...KAP
