THE CAUSES OF RAPE ARE DISCUSSED IN TERMS OF A LOOSENING OF MORAL STANDARDS AND THE GROWING INFLUENCE OF DRUGS. THE AUTHOR DISCUSSES THE TYPE OF PUNISHMENT THAT WOULD ADEQUATELY FIT THE CRIME. IT ALSO TOUCHES ON THE ISSUE OF STATUTORY RAPE AND UNREPORTED SEXUAL OFFENSES. SOME STATISTICS ARE GIVEN FOR THE PERIOD FROM 1960 TO 1973....BDS
