THIS REPORT INDICATES THE DEGREE TO WHICH CERTAIN TYPES OF COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT IS USED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL.
Abstract
THIS REPORT DISCLOSES THE RESULTS OF A SURVEY CONDUCTED BY THE NATIONAL BUREAU OF STANDARDS (NBS) FOR LEAA. THE SURVEY WAS DESIGNED TO DETERMINE THE DEGREE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT DOCUMENTATION DEVELOPED BY THE LAW ENFORCEMENT STANDARDS LABORATORY OF NBS AND THE NEED, IF ANY FOR ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION. THE TYPES OF EQUIPMENT INCLUDE DEBUGGING EQUIPMENT, REMOTE POWER GENERATORS, VEHICLE TRACKERS DIGITAL TERMINALS, AND COMPUTER-AIDED DISPATCH. ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SIX OF 254 QUESTIONNAIRES WERE RETURNED BY RESPONDENTS FOR A 69 PRECENT RATE OF RETURN. (AUTHUR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)....BDS
