THIS PHASE IS CONCERNED WITH THE PREVENTION OF CRIME AND DELINQUENCY, AS IT ATTENDS TO SOCIETAL PROCESSES INTERACTING WITH THE CLIENT AND LEADING TO THE IMPOSITION OF SOCIAL CONTROLS.
Abstract
THIS REPORT AIMS TOWARD ACTION RECOMMENDATIONS IN THREE SELECTED AREAS: DELINQUENCY IN THE SCHOOLS, ACADEMIC AND UNIVERSITY CONTRIBUTIONS, AND COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVES TO FUNCTIONING OF THE JUSTICE SYSTEM. WHILE RECOGNIZING IT IS APPROPRIATE TO CONTINUE TO WORK TO AFFECT YOUTH DIRECTLY, THE REPORT RECOMMENDS APPROACHING DELINQUENCY PREVENTION IN THE SCHOOLS BY MODIFYING THE SCHOOL SITUATION ITSELF. IT IS FURTHER PROPOSED THAT STATES TAKE IMMEDIATE, LARGE SCALE STEPS TO GET OUT OF THE CORRECTIONS BUSINESS AND REDISTRIBUTE THE LARGEST NUMBER OF CASES TO FULL COMMUNITY RESPONSIBILITY. IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT UNIVERSITY INVOLVEMENT IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE ENTERPRISE WILL POINT TOWARD THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM BECOMING AN EDUCATIONAL LABORATORY AND WILL RECIEVE THE BENEFIT OF ACADEMIC EXPERTISE, WHILE SECURING UP-TO-DATE ACADEMIC COURSED FOR STUDENTS....RCB
